ABOUT US

We have decided to choreograph together, combine our movements and ideas to be able to explore new areas we would not necessarily go if we were choreographing individually.

Vera and Jeremy started choreographing together after years of being dance partners at Les Grands Ballets Canadiens in Montreal and choreographing individually. They feel that working together is a great advantage, complementing ideas from distinct perspectives while aiming for the same goal in terms of aesthetics, ideas, and musicality.

In June 2024, they extended their piece DOMA into a 30-minute piece for 6 dancers and presented it at the International Festival of Leos Janacek in the Czech Republic. Earlier that year, in March 2024, they had a successful premiere of NEBE for Les Grands Ballets Canadiens at Theatre Maisonneuve, a piece commissioned by artistic director Ivan Cavallari.

In June 2023, they premiered BLIZ, a new piece for 10 dancers of the National Theater Mannheim. Blíz won multiple awards at the Concours de Jeunes Chorégraphes de Ballet 2024, including the Prix décerné par le jury, which awarded them a residency for creation and performance during the 2024-25 season at the CCN • Ballet de l’Opéra national du Rhin. They also won the Prix des professionnels, awarded by dance critics and theater directors, supported by the Fondation pour la Danse Thierry Malandain – Académie des beaux-arts.

In 2022, their piece DOMA was performed in the USA by Ishida Dance Company. That same year, they completed a residency with Boston Dance Theater.

Their creation, FOMO, premiered at the National Theater Mannheim, Germany, in June 2021 and was presented at the Festival Quartiers Danses in Montreal in September 2021, where it was awarded as the best show of the festival.

In 2021, they were selected for the final selection of the Future Dance Festival 92Y in NYC and performed DOMA at the Joyce Theater in New York as part of the Martha Graham Company season.

DOMA (short film version) has been awarded Winner Best Dance Video at Rio WebFest 2019 and Gold Winner Best Short Dance at Queen Palm International Film Festival 2020. Another short dance film, ZABA, created during the lockdown of 2020, was in the final selection of the Interfaccia Digitale Festival.

They also co-created Solo pour Trois for the Gala of Les Grands Ballets. Their creation DOMA, created for the Choreographic Workshop of Les Grands Ballets Canadiens, was included in the company repertoire in the mixed bill Parlami d'Amore in May 2019, presented at Carte Blanche DAC 2019 in Montreal, and selected for the Noverre-Young Choreographers evening at Stuttgart Ballet. They were finalists in the International Choreographic Competition in Hannover 2020, where they were awarded an invitation to the HANGARTFEST in Italy.

Their creations were supported by the Canadian Council for the Arts and CALQ.
